ONE IMAGE – ONE WORK

ONE IMAGE – ONE WORK

Photographers worldwide are invited to submit one image. Each submission contributes to a shared field of responses.

Each year, ONE IMAGE invites photographers to respond to a single question.
Not to compete in style or category, but to explore what photography can make visible.

From all submissions, a longlist and a shortlist are established.
From this process, one image is selected as the most necessary response to the annual question.
This image is not awarded for aesthetic excellence, but set as a work whose existence is affirmed.

The shortlisted works are presented in Sauveterre-de-Béarn.

The selected ONE IMAGE becomes ONE WORK.

ONE WORK is the process through which a selected image is established, materialised, documented, and sustained as a singular work.

The work:
is publicly presented in Sauveterre-de-Béarn
is accompanied by a written jury statement
is maintained within the ONE WORK program
